How to Request a Prescription
Due to the increased volume of repeat medication we have to process each day, we are now asking for 5 working days notice prior to collection of prescriptions.
You may request your prescription by post and if you enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope we will post your prescription back to you. Or by handing in the computer generated record slip attached to your last prescription at reception.
We regret that we cannot accept repeat prescription requests over the telephone because of wrong medication or dose being issued.
You will be asked from time to time to see a doctor whilst on repeat prescriptions to ensure that the medication is still working and the dose is correct.
Please ensure you always have sufficient medication to last over the weekend and public holidays when the surgery is closed.
Your local pharmacy may have arrangements with our surgery to collect and deliver your prescriptions for you if you are unable to get to the surgery yourself, please check with them.
Electronic Prescription Service
From the end of September, the surgery will be utilising EPS. This is an NHS service, and will give you the chance to change how your GP sends your prescription to the place you choose to get your medicines and appliances from. You will not have to visit the surgery to collect your prescription, instead your GP will send it electronically to the pharmacy of your choice. Further information can be obtained from your chosen pharmacy, or the surgery.
